===== Options ===== ==== Hotkeys ==== {{options:hotkeyspage.png|}} **Introduction** In Spider Player you can use hotkeys for quick access to any player's features/actions. Some actions (most frequently used ones) already have hotkeys assigned to them, while others not. Spider Player supports two types of hotkeys: local or application wide (the ones that work only when one of Spider Player's windows is active) and global or system wide (the ones that work even when Spider Player is inactive or minimized). You can assign up to four (!) hotkeys to each program's action. They are: local hotkey, alternative local hotkey, global hotkey and alternative global hotkey. Alternative hotkeys can come in very handy if you use more than one input device, e.g. a keyboard and a remote control. So alternative hotkeys will allow to use both devices simultaneously. **Using Hotkey Manager** * **Edit...** To edit hotkeys assigned to some particular action, select that action in the list an press the //Edit...// button or just double-click the action name in the list.\\ \\ {{:options:hotkeys:assign_hotkeys_edit.png|}}\\ \\ //Assign hotkeys// window will appear.\\ \\ {{:options:hotkeys:assign_hotkeys.png|}}\\ \\ The //Action// here is the action for which we want to edit hotkeys.\\ To remove a hotkey, press the //X// button next to it.\\ To set or change a hotkey, click on a corresponding edit field and press a key or key combination you wish to assign on your input device (keyboard, remote control, etc.). The field you have selected will now reflect the combination pressed. If the field is highlighted in red, then the combination is already assigned to some other action and you'll have to choose another hotkey. Otherwise the field's color is green. Click //OK//, when finished editing/assigning hotkeys to apply your changes or //Cancel// to undo them. * **Add...** To add a hotkey to an action that is not in the list, press the //Add...// button.\\ \\ {{:options:hotkeys:assign_hotkeys_add_but.png|}}\\ \\ The same //Assign hotkeys// window will appear. Only now you are able to select an action you wish to assign hotkeys to from the drop-down list. As you can see, this drop down list is pretty large, as it contains almost all actions that are available in Spider Player.\\ \\ {{:options:hotkeys:assign_hotkeys_add.png|}}\\ \\ After you have selected an action, use the same method described in the //Edit...// section to assign hotkeys to it. * **Remove** To remove all hotkeys assigned to an action, select it from the list in the Hotkey Manager and press the //Remove// button.\\ \\ {{:options:hotkeys:hotkeys_remove.png|}} * **Restore defaults** - resets hotkey settings to their default values.
